The Return of Westy- Update

As previously reported, Ryan Westmoreland has returned to live action this past weekend in the Dominican Instructional League. The 21 year old, who was returning to baseball for the first time since having a cavernous malformation removed from his brain stem in March 2010, had five at bats over the course of two days. Westmoreland went 0-3 with a walk, a HBP, a strikeout, and two groundouts. By doing this, Westmoreland completed his goal of seeing action in a live game by the end of 2011.
